2024: A Prelude to Global Collapse--The Waning of the West, the Rise of Resource Conflicts & The Death of Growth: In hindsight, 2024 will be recognized as the year when the world crossed the threshold into a new, harsher era. Western economies, burdened by aging populations, declining industrial capacity, & unsustainable debt, will have lost their ability to project power on the global stage. Meanwhile, rising nations will have turned inward, prioritizing self-sufficiency & resource control over free trade & cooperation. Wars over water, minerals, & energy will have escalated, particularly in Africa & Asia, where state failure & climate stress will drive mass migrations. The long-cherished ideal of endless economic growth will have died, replaced by a brutal recognition of planetary limits, setting the stage for the great contractions.
