The End of History & What Happened After...
Why The United States of America Today finds itself Friendless, Isolated & Despised
USA Imperial Arrogance, Global Dominance, Illuminated Power, Authoritative Outlook, Provocative, Confrontational.
“Francis Fukuyama, that emblematic American commentator of the 1980s, gave only the last & most optimistic version of this benign intellectual isolationism. His vision of the irresistible triumph of American liberal capitalism around the World was normally read by Americans as an assurance that their victory would be bloodless. Everyone would soon largely agree with them... The most perceptive alternative analysis was that of the American political scientist Samuel P. Huntington. His new model for international relations predicted a World divided into armed & antagonistic blocs on religious lines. Huntington's was the best argument, but it was Fukuyama who wrote the bestseller.”

History did not end on December 25, 1991, with the fall of the Soviet Union & the re-emergence of Russia on the World stage:
Contrary to what many at the time declared, man did not reach the pinnacle of development & progress a la Liberal Democracy & Market Capitalism.
Instead, what happened was far more predictable & unsavoury:
Great Power Conflict & Competition (slowly at first, then with vigour & speed) returned to the International Arena, devastatingly impacting the broader Western World.
Samuel P. Huntington, a lifelong mentor to Fukuyama, noted in his seminal essay 'A Clash of Civilizations?' a mere two years after the Soviet implosion, what he felt the 21st century had in store for the Western World:
“It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in this new World will not be primarily ideological or primarily economic. The great divisions among humankind & the dominating source of conflict will be cultural. Nation-states will remain the most powerful actors in World affairs, but the principal conflicts of global politics will occur between nations & groups of different civilizations. The clash of civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault lines between civilizations will be the battle lines of the future.”
~ Samuel P. Huntington, ‘The Clash of Civilizations?’ in Foreign Affairs (1993)
Huntington has decisively bested his pupil today. Even the naysayers among the intelligentsia & 'Elite' have to admit that the West's claims to Moral Universalism & related pursuits have all but decisively evaporated in recent years.
Yet, what is it that *really* happened after The United States of America found itself the Sole Superpower at the end of the Cold War?
This is a rather tricky question. It is fashionable not to have a memory longer than the typical news cycle of a few weeks &/or months. As for what happened even two years ago? Dear Reader, you are in a select minority of 'noticers!'
Today, the Empire of Lies is Dying, surrounded by enemies closing in slowly but steadily. It is beset by economic, military, & political woes in all areas. Total Defeat, Destruction, & DOOM are all but inevitable.
Yet... how did this all happen? & Why Now?
What follows is a concise, decisive primer on the critical events post-1991 that have gotten the Western World to where it presently finds itself: at War outright with much of the rest of the World, with no end to the overall bloodshed & carnage.
Clown World & the various vicissitudes of DOOM, gloom, & despair that percolate all over the West did not spring up overnight. In most cases, cause & effect can be identified, which we will now examine.
