Prolegomena: Some of my Dear Readers have requested that I do a deep dive into how Battlefield Dynamics have shifted these past few months & years, & specifically how I see that factoring into the Near Future.
As with all topics of great breadth, one must do additional work from the onset. Particularly regarding this issue, we must get used to some 'basics:'
Here is the Macroeconomist Philip Pilkington's must-read analysis on why weaponry & munitions are being rapidly 'Commodified' on the battlefield.
Afterward, here you can find his analysis of calculating the Economic Value of Military Material, & why ‘Military spending alone’ is a hopelessly faulty metric for understanding True Combat potential.
Pilkington uses straightforward language, & his model is succinct & 'to the point.' At a later date, we will unpack the implications behind the numbers. But for now, Dear Readers, you'll be getting some Homework!
Finally, for those willing to 'go the extra mile' after reading all of the above, feel free to watch the following interview:
(Note: Pay Special Attention to the 'facts on the ground' Yemen's Ansarallah has created, namely, that they have enacted a de facto Naval Blockade without ships! A first in Human History!)
Your support is vital for Smelting the DOOM; & keeping it HOT & FRESH off the Furnace!
If you enjoyed the Read; I would greatly appreciate it if you subscribe to a Monthly/Yearly pledge to support my work, so that I may continue Smelting DOOM for your displeasure!
Alternatively, you can tip here:
Thank You, Dear Reader(s) for all your support!
My compliments, a good iconoclast tells us more than, “Santa” is not real.
Wow, one and a half hours for the interview? I'll have to make more space in my schedule. xD BTW, it's refreshing to see an economist and investor try to calculate the market price of weapon systems. xD I think he was too conservative when he proposed it takes 250 Zircons to sink a carrier (I'd guess 1.5 are enough), but it just goes to show - even lowly economists are smarter then "political scientists". xD
Somebody should show this article of yours to Andrei Martyanov (smoothiex12). :) He will compliment you on making a good selection of sources. :)
